Department Of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2000. Chemistry department consists of well qualified and experienced faculty members, four of them are Doctorate holders and two faculties are pursuing doctoral degree. The main activity of the department is to teach engineering chemistry theory and laboratory courses to the under graduate engineering students of all disciplines. The department has been approved as Research Centre by VTU. The department main research areas are – Energy conversion and storage, Hybrid battery, Organic electrode materials for energy storage applications, Fuel cells, N4-macrocyclic systems, Self-assembled monolayers, Mechanochemistry, Nanomaterial’s functionalization for electro- and photo-catalysis, Electrochemical sensors, Biosensors, Water purification, Nano and low-cost adsorbents for water purification. Faculty members have published many research articles in reputed national and international journals.
The department has one ongoing project and two project has been successfully completed
